信仰, 多样性, and Science Lecture

The Office of Inclusive Excellence, in partnership with the Biology department, invites you to the 信仰, 多样性, and Science Lecture on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 6:30-8 p.m. The lecture will be held in 上层Gwinn (wheelchair accessible). Masks are required. 

In this lecture Dr. Wattacheril will examine the question, "What does God think about creation?" and explore themes of wholeness and suffering: 
  • Why do problems seem to be accumulating faster than solutions? 
  • What is our role in creation? How does God equip us to co-create? 
  • When t在这里 are systemic failures, how might we respond?

Our keynote speaker, Julia Wattacheril, MD, 英里每小时, is a clinician investigator, transplant hepatologist, and director of adult nonalcoholic fatty liver disease program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center - NY Presbyterian Hospital. 作为一个基督徒, her passion for faith and work integration began in medical school in Houston at the Baylor College of Medicine. After moving to NYC, she completed the Gotham Fellowship at the Center for 信仰 and Work and continues to develop innovative ways to implement spiritual tools to help healthcare providers and the patients they serve. She has a particular heart for connecting with people at the fringes of any sp在这里 but particularly in academic medicine. 

This lecture will be recorded for internal (SPU-only) use.
